There are no portraits in Halprin’s suite of sketches more psychologically revealing than the self-portraits that he created over his lifetime. Representative of all stages of Halprin’s life, his self portraits reveal wartime stress, self documentation and the effects of age, and his love of humor. These drawings endear themselves to his closest friends and family, and often trigger stories and personal memories.
